FROM...WITH LOVE
A solo show by Neckar Doll (*1995, Mulhouse FR), curated by Tim Rosenbaum at COUNCIL+ in Berlin.
Who knew the end would be so peaceful.
A tiny hole of light, shaped like a butterfly,
keeps expanding until there's nothing left but its light.
The brightness becomes everything,
erasing all fear and opening up limitless possibilities.
Space and time cease to exist,
I can be anywhere,
anytime.
I see familiar faces from my world:
a cowgirl, a witch,
a knight, they are all here.
I see their shadows casted onto nothingness.
Everything is so profoundly quiet.
This is not a dream because I can smell its scent.
As the butterflies disperse,
they reveal my lifeless body on the ground.
I'm no longer a ghost,
I'm alive again.
They strip my jewelry and inject a liquid that feels like I'm wetting myself.
A tube went down my throat as I can taste blood. I still can't breathe.
Suddenly,
I miss the smell of your morning skin.
